We hope you are looking forward to the upcoming event on base. We want to ensure a smooth experience for everyone, so please take note of the following parking instructions:

  1. Getting on Base: When you arrive at the base, please follow the directions towards the pier area.
  2. Event Parking: Upon reaching the pier, there will be a designated roped-off section of the parking lot reserved for the event. This area has been set up to accommodate attendees, so please make your way there.
  3. Arrive Early: To ensure you have enough time to park and get comfortably seated before the 11 AM start of the ceremony, we recommend arriving well in advance. Plan your journey accordingly to allow for any potential delays.

NOTE: IF YOU ORDERED A WHITE PLANKOWNER SHIRT PRIOR TO 9/11, WE WILL HAVE THEM AT THE HOTEL ON THURSDAY FOR YOU TO PICKUP IN PERSON TO ENSURE YOU HAVE YOUR SHIRT

If you plan to join us as a Plankowner and man the rails for this special occasion, you must adhere to our dress code, which balances professionalism with a friendly atmosphere. Please dress in the following attire:

    • A white short-sleeve shirt, either a button-down or a polo shirt with a three-button collar. You have the option to order this from the ship’s store, but please note that after 9-9, we cannot guarantee timely delivery. We recommend wearing a T-shirt underneath for added comfort.
    • A black belt to complete your look.
    • Dark blue pants (please refrain from wearing jeans, as no exceptions will be permitted).
    • Black socks and black shoes to maintain a cohesive appearance.
    • If you have one, please wear your Bunker Hill ballcap in good condition. If you don’t have one, don’t worry; we’ll do our best to arrange for you to receive one before the ceremony.

We kindly request that all participants gather at the pier at 09:30 for ceremony preparations. Your cooperation with this dress code will contribute to the overall success and professionalism of the event. We look forward to sharing this special occasion with you!

General: What is the Attire for the Events?2023-09-13T18:18:17+00:00

For the decommissioning event, the Navy has requested formal business attire, typically formal business attire such as suits or dresses. However Business Professional is recommended.

For the decommissioning/reunion banquet, the Bunker Hill Association has specified a preference for Business Casual attire, which generally allows for a more relaxed yet professional dress code.

It would be best to follow the guidelines provided by the Association for this particular event.

DECOM: How many guest(s) can I bring?2023-07-10T22:06:06+00:00

About the upcoming event, we would like to let you know about an important regulation that is required by the state of California.

In order to ensure a seamless experience and to accommodate the arrangements for the event, we regretfully inform you that we will be unable to accept any walk-ins on the day of the event. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in making this event a resounding success.

General: Payment options – PayPal2023-07-05T18:59:27+00:00

We want to inform our valued customers that we now exclusively accept PayPal as the payment method for all purchases in our ship store, including the reunion and other items.

This decision has been made to maintain affordable pricing, as the credit card option has become increasingly costly for us.

By partnering with nonprofits, PayPal helps defray these expenses, allowing us to offer competitive prices and a budget-friendly shopping experience.

We appreciate your understanding and support in using PayPal for your transactions.

The Bunker Hill Association operates under a dedicated charter that serves both current and past shipmates. For more information about our charter, please visit the about page.

In collaboration with the Navy and Bunker Hill, we have been asked to assist as a central point for gathering information. This helps streamline the process, reducing the burden on the Navy’s resources by minimizing the number of calls they receive daily.

Our primary role is to support our shipmates in ways that align with our charter, which includes facilitating both the Decommissioning and Reunion events.

The Association and the Navy have been working together closely to collect and disseminate information promptly and conveniently. Our Association team has utilized platforms such as Facebook, emails, and monthly Zoom meetings to foster connections among crew members throughout the years.

We invite you to join the association and reconnect with your fellow shipmates. By enrolling and staying connected, you can strengthen the bonds within our community. Be sure to visit the ship’s store for enrollment options.
